The Life and Times of Charlotte-Day 5-A special series of posts for my nieces and nephews

Here in lies the thoughts of me, Charlotte, the guinea pig:

Day 5- Today I went grocery shopping and no I didn't take any pictures. The food has been delicious but I was craving some strawberries. So I made a quick trip to the local grocery. I also went shopping for a new dress but that wasn't the greatest idea I had had. You know when you are on vacation and you kind of do a ditch the diet act. Well, my waist line responded to the ditch the diet act. While I've been happily munching away on all my vacation treats my waistline has bloated. Ich, have you ever tried on dresses when bloated!?! It is horrible! I could barely look in the mirrors of the dressing room. I did find a lovely sun dress though (nice and flowy). It is gorgeous cream color with specks of purple. The purple brings out the white in my fur very well. The clerk at the store even stopped to compliment me.

After my shopping excursion I managed a quick sunbath on the back deck. It got up to a balmy 78 degrees today. And speaking of weather it has been FANTASTIC! The sun has been shining and the breeze ruffling my fur. I also had my room freshened up today by the local maid. She even put me in the bathroom for my facial and massage and I had a celerytini to drink while I was being pampered. When I got back to my room my bed was all fluffed up and my hay ball all filled up. I can honestly say I spent the next few hours lazily napping and filling up on hayball! SMACK SMACK went my little lips!

Oh, I can't believe my vacation is almost over! *sigh* I guess all good things come to an end though. Well, journal, I know you feel the love and all but I am feeling the sleep so I'm going to hit the aspen chips and hunker down for the night! Peace out, Charlotte, the glammed up guinea pig!

The Life and Times of Charlotte-Day 4-A special series of posts for my nieces and nephews

Here in lies the thoughts of me, Charlotte, the guinea pig:

Day 4-A quiet day at home

Well it was a lovely day at home yesterday. I slept in late as I was very tired from my adventures at King's Island the day before. I took a leisurely stroll about the grounds. The weather has been fantastic for March. I had a bit of broccoli mid morning for a snack. I then decided to play a bit of Wii. I played the sports game and discovered I have quite the knack for tennis and boxing. I took a quick snapshot in order to remember my lazy day!

Me playing the Wii

I decided to make my day complete by cooking a meal for everyone!

I did enjoy having a little bit of time in the kitchen. It was a delicious meal but for some reason the humans were not very into the hay ball stew and celery pops, in fact I heard them banging around in the kitchen later that evening making something else to eat. I found the meal most scrumptious! I have no immediate plans for the last few days of my vacation. I guess we will see where the days go!

The Life and Times of Charlotte-Day 3-A special series of posts for my nieces and nephews

Here in contains the thoughts of me, Charlotte, the guinea pig:

Day 3-It was the dawning of a new day! After a great breakfast of hayball and absolutely NO pellets (My palette is much more advanced than most guinea pigs) I was off to visit King's Island. This was my first time riding a roller coaster and I was a tad bit nervous. After I arrived though most of nerves left me as the excitement and anticipation built. Below you will see a picture of me waiting in line for the first ride!

It was amazing! My reaction: EEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! The wind blowing in my fur and the quick twists and turns were thrilling. It was an exhaustingly fun day. I can only hope my humans had as much fun as I did. Tomorrow I promised my host parents I would cook dinner. I'm thinking hay ball stew with fresh celery pops! We'll see though, I may come up with something else. Also, since I decided to hit up King's Island today I am going to take it easy tomorrow. A girl does need her down time!

A picture of me with one of the King's Island workers

So far this has been the best vacation I have ever been on! I can't wait for the next one!

The Life and Times of Charlotte-Day 2-A special series of posts for my nieces and nephews

Here in contains the thoughts of me, Charlotte, the guinea pig:

Day 2: Well yesterday was quite the adventure. All the humans departed for work and play and I was left to my own devices. After careful consideration I decided to bump my train ride in the country from Thursday to yesterday. So I gathered my ticket and headed to the station and that is when it all went down hill, FAST!

When I arrived it was mass chaos. The small country side had been ambushed by only God knows what. I heard a lot of speculation regarding the destruction being caused by the tiny one. I personally believe this to be true even if the government is saying it is still unsure of what exactly caused this destruction. I'll tell you why I feel it was the tiny one, I saw some definite drool spots along the train station waiting room. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw some teeth marks on some of the train cars. Given these facts any logical guinea pig would know that only TINY ONES can cause this extent of damage. The grossest part of this was I STEPPED in the DROOL! Heavens, after I realized I would not be going on a train ride through the country I was full steam ahead to get home and SHOWER! ICK! Have you ever stepped in tiny one drool?!? It is the stickiest substance I've encountered in my short life span. I was able to snap a few photos for evidence, er, uh, I mean memories.

Arriving and viewing the destruction

I was able to get a picture with one of the disaster relief people. She was very nice and assured me that hopefully they would be able to get the trains up and running again prior to my departure on Sunday and if not I would be refunded the full ticket amount. Thank heavens for this at least.

It was a quiet evening at home. I enjoyed some celery and scampering about my room. Tomorrow I have a hair appointment and am thinking staying in might be a better idea. The lobby has a tv and a Wii to play. Although the weather is divine and I might do a little sunbathing on the back deck. Ahhh, the possibilities are endless! Well Journal, I guess these are the only thoughts I have for now unless you want to have a rant about the climbing costs of Timothy Hay?!? Well, yes, then, I think that is all for now.

The Life and Times of Charlotte-Day 1-A special series of posts for my nieces and nephews

Here in contains the thoughts of me, Charlotte, the guinea pig:

Day 1: After being sent away on a mandatory vacation, my humans were leaving for a vacation of their own, I arrived on Sunday afternoon to my vaca spot. So far I have accessed their are four humans total-2 big ones, one small one, and one tiny one. The girl big one was a little skittish the first few times when reaching in to pet me or pick me up but as I have chosen not to bite her she seems less skittish. The boy big one I gave a run for his money. I kept scampering around my cage when he tried to pick me up, which by the way was the most fun I've had in a while! Then there is the tiny one, she screeches a lot and drools. I'm glad the big ones have decided to limit her interaction with me as I feel my life span could easily be shortened if I were to be left alone with her. Now there is the small one, she frequently visits me when I'm at home. She has been lovely to see again. She brings me treats and brushes my fur. There have been a few situations though, like when she hugs me. You know the moment when someone gives you a hug and they linger, you know the lingering hugger type?! Yeah, well the small one is a lingering hugger so things get awkward at times and slightly embarrassing!

Now for the terrifying news, I'm not quite sure what my humans were thinking sending me here. There is a VERY large furry animal which inhabits these parts. I've never seen this species before but the humans call him CASH. He smelled awful and has this ugly swishy tail and green, haunting eyes. I've happily steered clear of him and hope not to run into him again.

Well, I need to get to my breakfast of hay ball special, at least the food has been divine! I have a trip to King's Island planned as well as a train ride through the country later in the week. I'm looking forward to a few other activities as well! I'll try to include pictures in my next entry.
